Today a brother from the US visited our humble home as part of his very busy trip.
I was truly blessed that he did because the last time we saw him was about two or three years ago when he was a guest at my summer camp. Since the pandemic, visiting friends and family has become a scarce commodity.
While we shared a few words about how we were doing, he echoed some words that stuck with me. He bestowed blessings upon us and said, looking at my husband, “when I see young men like you still going strong in the faith it encourages me to keep pressing!”
We the believers, especially the young ones in this season, know that it is not an easy road and we can often get discouraged and question God. Nevertheless, we must know that our God is faithful and so we too must strive to stay faithful.
Not only is this “faithfulness” paramount to our success as children of God but clearly it ( our faithfulness) serves as an encouragement to each other.
I once interviewed a few people I know who have been practicing the Christianity life style for what seems to be all their lives. I wanted to know what kept them on the narrow path so I too can seek it, since backsliding is not an option.
Though God’s Grace is number one, the WILL to love Him and stay in Him is also important and of course today I was reminded that staying faithful was an ENCOURAGEMENT. -Motivation for others who are running the same race.
As my husband responded in agreement to my dear brother in Christ’s sentiments; “Iron sharpens iron…!”
Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
This scripture was right there manifesting in our lives!
Are you are a young Christian, be encouraged in the Lord, stay faithful especially when the journey gets difficult because you never know who is watching you and how you too can be a source of encouragement to them!
Deuteronomy 31:6 says “be strong and of good Courage for I am the Lord your God, I am with you, I will never leave you nor forsake you!”
God bless!
To my brother in Christ “Skerrit Bwoy” thank you for your visit and continue to tarry for His glory!
