Salvation, Baptism- Myth or Truth?

What I learned from my cousin’s death: Proof that surrendering your life to God & getting baptized is more than just a religious charade!

Written by Netisha Alie-Grant

I have spoken to and am acquainted with at least 4 prominent gentlemen who believe that my faith in the God of Jesus Christ is “the white man’s way of controlling black people.”

They believe that the Bible is a history book filled with “stories” written by man and not God Himself!

I respect that everyone has the free will to believe whatever they choose! If God could give man free will who am I to dictate to others?

Nevertheless, while questioning God about my cousin Tasha’s battle with Cancer and getting annoyed with Him for being silent about healing or taking her, I experienced one of the greatest revelations yet.
Sharing a few words at Tasha's Life Celebration

Sometimes we question the God we serve, especially when we do not understand His plan or why He allows things to happen, but believe it is all in good standing.

My cousin before her battle with breast cancer, was a church goer but she didn’t completely surrender her life to God.

She was what I called a one foot-in-one-foot-out kind of Christian. She later gave her heart to God completely and got baptized!

Her battle continued and we prayed. “Are you going to heal her or take her?” I pleaded. God kept silent to my question for two and a half years.

Then on April 1 2019, I woke up to read my scripture for the day. There stated in the title the words; “When Yes means No”

-A story of a lady whose mom was fighting leukemia and while she wanted her mom to be healed, her Mom’s prayer was to “suffer no more...God knows I’m ready to go home.” She said.

Sounds familiar?

Then the daughter knew that God had to say “No!” to her and that would be a “Yes!” to her mom. My current dilemma!

The matching scripture was Romans 8:22-28: “I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me.”

And there in this too familiar and real story God “answered me...” in my distress-an answer on my cousin’s final “verdict.”

Right then I knew without a doubt that the Lord was going to put my cousin to rest from all the pain she was enduring from this world! And to SAVE her in His kingdom.

“You know He is going to take her?” I asked my husband. Like God, he stood silent. -Trying to protect me from the excruciating grief I was about to endure.

“It’s ok,” I continued, “it’s all here in this story.”

A few hours later I shared the scripture with another cousin who lives on the same island as my suffering cousin. She’d give me updates on our Tasha’s situation.

While sharing with her, a song came over the radio: “This world is not what it was meant to be, all this pain, all this suffering, there’s a better place waiting for me-in Heaven...I’m going home; where the streets are golden... oh I wanna go HOME!” Confirmation!

You see when God is saying something to you, He will always confirm it. And that He did. In case I missed it the first time God was making it abundantly clear that He was going to put my cousin to rest from this painful world.

I quickly sent her (my liaising cousin) a clip of the song and she shivered as she listened. This was at 11:40 am. By 2:09pm The text came in: “Cuz she’s gone”

Coincidence? A word often used to describe events that are in agreement or in harmony? Or  is God making it clear that He is answering a prayer by giving me the heads up on calling my cousin “Home?”

I know my answer, how about you? :) Because I could give many more instances where prayers have been answered.

Salvation is surrendering to God so you can be saved from eternal damnation, Baptism is a public declaration of this salvation, burying the old man and becoming a new creation in Christ!

Very very very real! The choice remains yours!Would you surrender to Him today? (See Prayer below)
In loving Memory of my darling Tasha- We miss you dearly!

If you would like to surrender your heart to God through Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of SALVATION please pray this prayer;

Lord I know that I am sinner, but I want to become one with you. I renounce satan and the world, I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I accept you as my personal Lord and saviour. I declare that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. In Jesus name I pray Amen. CONGRATULATIONS!

(If you prayed the above prayer you have now accepted a relationship with God, read the Bible and find the assembly of true born again believers. Let God lead you!)

True Story: God gave me a second chance!

True Story: God gave me a second chance!

“It happened within 5 seconds! My car hit a gutter, flipped & turned over. I closed my eyes, never blanked out! I felt EVERYTHING!

Written By Netisha Alie-Grant

You know those videos of people talking about escaping an accident without a scratch at some church, in a far away place you don’t even know and you wonder if they are for real or if the pastor paid them to say it?

Recall the disbelief and questioning that is usually expressed when you see them.

However there’s a saying that goes; “you never truly understand how it feels unless it hits home” Never heard it? Perhaps I just made it up but I’m sure many people can relate.

Let’s give you an example. During the week a sister from church shared a video of a young lady claiming she was in a car accident and escaped death without a scratch. -That she wasn’t ready to die for her soul was not right with God and now she’s happy to have gotten a second chance.

The other members barely reacted to the video. But today, a young man who once came to our church often enough, stood up in front of our congregation and told us that HE had escaped death.

“It happened within 5 seconds! My car hit a gutter, flipped & turned over. I closed my eyes, never blanked out! I felt EVERYTHING! The windshield on my side looked like someone had hit it with a huge stone. The back glass was shattered... the only thing I felt was a small back pain. The only thing I could do is GIVE GOD THANKS! “
Photo of car

“Yet the passenger side of the windshield was so clean you could wipe your hand on it.” Interesting!

Was God or His angel on the passenger side? Holding this young man and shielding him from the impact of this car?

I know it is 2019 and many are pushing God and Jesus out of their lives. Claiming they are mere “Religion “ and that to believe in God is “the white man’s scheme to control us and keep us (blacks) in bondage.”

BUT GOD is still in the miracle working business! He is still here giving us second chances to get it right!

Maybe you won’t believe the stories you see from the churches you do not know but this one is from a young man in Antigua (closer to home) and it is very real!

Are you ready to die? If you died today do you know for sure where your soul will go?

Some people like Marcus have another chance to get it right. Have you been getting chances and ignoring them? If you do not have Jesus in your heart you are living for the devil!

In John 11:25 Jesus says to Martha; “ I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in me, even if he dies, he shall live.”

The only comfort we have in this life is to know when we die that our hearts are in God and we die in Christ. So that as Christ resurrected so shall we in Him.

Unless you’re alive when Jesus returns, death will befall you. Are you ready for it?

Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the Kingdom of The Lord is nigh! (Acts 2:38, Matthew 3:2)

Where else can Christians go besides Church , Beach & Movies?

Where else can Christians go besides Church , Beach & movies?

According to our Christian doctrine we are Mind, Body & Spirit. Everything that is not aligning with the Spirit of God in you is operating in the flesh/natural. We cannot say we have God in us and still mix with things that do not glorify Him.

When a young lady I tried leading to "The Narrow Path" (Born again Christian) asked me "Where else can Christians go besides Church, Beach & Movies?" -Obviously implying that one's life becomes uninteresting when you give it God, I felt compelled to prove that the God I serve is a God of Happiness, excitement and greatness.

Nevertheless, why do Born-again Christians immediately separate themselves from certain social gatherings once they say "I accept YOU (Jesus Christ) as my personal Lord and Savior?

“. Paul writes, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?” (2 Corinthians 6:14-15)”

Anything that promotes drunkenness, reveling, sexual immorality, idolizing sex symbols... are all "feeders" of the flesh that "suffocates" the Spirit of God within you. Hence you bear fruits associate to those seeds.

Unlike the fruits of the spirit which include "Love, Joy & Peace!" (See Galatians 5:19-22)

Critics assume that becoming a Christian means “Thou shall not have fun...” that we are missing out on some grand social gathering infused by alcohol, revealing clothing and carefree gyrating on the same or opposite sex, borrowed or possessed person, where no rules of self respect and respect for others apply.

-That “boring” is the only adjective that describes the activities we can do while the world 🌎 does the same events repeatedly with just a change in outfit, price and location. Monotonous! Who is truly missing out?

What makes a form of entertainment sinful?
“Colossians 3:17: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
When we are relaxing and having fun or when we are seeking entertainment, we should always make sure these activities are "pleasing God."

What is the purpose of entertainment/fun/recreation?

Recreation means to re-create or renew. We seek entertainment (pleasure/delight) to balance our lives and keep our sanity from being workaholics. -To rest as God did on the 7th day! Genesis 2:2

Which means after engaging in recreation we should be renewed and recharged ready to take on new challenges not "drunk and disorderly" or tired beyond recognition with no memory of what happened the night before and feeling like a truck drove over us.

What entertains you? Does it uplift and inspire you to be a better individual in the end? Does it make you want to grab Monday by the neck and charge into a new productive and happy week? Perhaps you should revisit your entertainment activities.

God wants His children to be happy! So much so that our bodies get sick when we are stressed, angry & frustrated all the time. Yet happiness and thoughts of positivity and hope makes us healthy! WAW! What a creator we have!

So Christians it is God's will to be happy and entertained, just be "particular" about your choices, asking the questions: Does this glorify God? Does it feed my spirit, restore me and inspire me to do great things? Does it align with God's plan for my life? Does it give me rest and balance from life's challenges?

Then you'll know whether or not you can attend or part take. We do not jump to every drum that beats because it looks good. Instead we pray for discernment to make wise choices.
