Did you know that the Bible, also known as THE GOOD BOOK, truly is good? What if I told you that there are tips and strategies in the word of God that can help and teach you to grow and advance as a business owner/ entrepreneur.
Part of my podcast series: Listen here!
It reads:
53 When Jesus had finished these parables,(BA) he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue,(BB) and they were amazed.(BC) “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?(BD) Isn’t his mother’s(BE) name Mary, and aren’t his brothers(BF) James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57 And they took offense(BG) at him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”(BH)
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
What can we learn from Jesus’ experience here?
You should market your business outside of your Hometown/Tribe!
Jesus said: a prophet is not without honour, except in his hometown.
Did Jesus stay in Nazareth? Or Galilee? Why was He constantly moving to different places? And what can we learn from him here when in business?
Here are at least two Tips:
- Accept that some of your friends and family will not support you and stop taking it personally. Jesus already told you this would happen.
- Seek customers outside of your friends and community. Depending on your business type {online or land-based} you must think outside of your community. The customers for you may not be there and that's ok. Thus, be like Jesus and travel to other places, use social media and networking to find your customers outside your community!
The sooner you can acknowledge this lesson from Jesus' example the sooner you will stop complaining about who is not supporting you and focus on ways to expand and reach those who were truly destined to be reached by you and that amazing business idea God has given you.
