The Caribbean has proven to be a section of the world that breeds some of the most intelligent and talented people. Yet much of its current young entrepreneurs are struggling to make a profit even with easy marketing hubs such as social media platforms. Why is that the case?
Jesus after reading from a scroll in a synagogue in His hometown of Nazareth makes a very strong statement;
“Truly I tell you... no prophet is accepted in his hometown...” -Luke 4:24 what did Jesus know when He made this statement?-the most famous man to walk the face of the earth performed many great signs and wonders yet very little of it was done in His hometown. Why?
Is it the same reason that Caribbean Entrepreneurs are struggling to “make it” in the Caribbean? Have we been conditioned to not support our own kind? Are we being consumed by a jealous spirit that lets us make statements like “he/she eh getting rich off me...” while in the same breath we take risks buying from an unknown online seller who could rub us of our money?
Why do we ask for discounts from our fellow man but pay the full price to the foreigners?
I believe that there is more than enough room for ALL of us to succeed. So let’s get excited for a brother or sister who is using their gifts and talents to earn a living and support each other by patronizing and investing in each other’s businesses.
